What we check

Government ID, on every application

No one can list without uploading a government ID, an Aadhaar or a PAN, alongside their profile photo.

We check that the ID number is structurally valid, that the photo and the document are genuinely two different images, and that neither file has been submitted by anyone else before. This catches a forged or recycled application; it does not, on its own, prove that a person owns the identity they uploaded.

A person reviews every application

Nothing is approved automatically. A member of our team reads every application, looks at the photo and the document, and decides. A profile that is approved starts suspended and without a photo until the companion completes it.

We can suspend or ban any companion at any time, and a suspended profile disappears from search and cannot be messaged.

What we do not do yet, and will not pretend to

We do not currently run automated Aadhaar KYC against the UIDAI database, a biometric selfie match, or a third-party criminal background check. Companions consent to a background check when they apply, and we are working to integrate these automated systems as we expand.

Until then, our "ID-Reviewed" badge indicates that a human on our team has manually reviewed the companion's government ID.

Your money

A pass unlocks every profile, in every city. Nothing renews and nothing is auto-debited: a pass expires and you decide whether to buy another. A pass is non-refundable once active, but a payment that never activated one, or a duplicate charge, we refund without argument.

During every meetup

Tap SOS to capture your current location, then choose Share, WhatsApp or SMS and send it to someone you trust. During a booking, the message includes your companion’s first name. It needs location permission and shares a snapshot, not continuous tracking. It does not alert emergency services automatically; call 112 yourself in immediate danger.

First meetups happen in public places, and you can report a person from your booking. The Companio Team reviews every report and can stop their messages.

The platonic promise

Companio is for company, never anything else. Zero tolerance for non-platonic conduct, enforced with immediate permanent bans for either side.
